Antique Rose

I have been keeping a single rose on my desk by my computer.  I've been working at the whole "stop to smell the roses" mentality, and having the rose there seems to just brighten my work day a bit! Today I got an antique rose which has petals that are slightly darker around the edges, creating an antique look.  I love it so much I had to share. Hope this brightens your day a bit too!

Simply Vintageous | What Would Carrie Bradshaw Wear? ... Lace

Simply Vintageous is one of my favorite vintage stores in L.A.!  This store has the most incredible selection of high end vintage, and if you live in Los Angeles, or come to visit, I highly recommend that you check it out!

Recently, the girls over at Simply Vintageous asked me to model for their look book!  They wanted to do a "Carrie Bradshaw" themed photo shoot, and since people are always telling me that I look like Sarah Jessica Parker, I fit the part perfectly!  I have to admit it was beyond fun to put on all of the amazing clothes and pretend to be the fabulous Carrie/SJP!

The first look involved an adorable peach dress with a short sleeve lace overlay...

Dinner with friends...

I went out the other night with some of my best girlfriends to celebrate our friend Joanne's birthday.  We went to a great local LA spot, Laurel Hardware.  The food and drinks were fantastic.  And the company was even better!

It was an unexpected, last minute plan, and it turned out to be such a fun night that I could resist sharing!

Verameat: Whimsical Jewelry For Everyone!

I had the pleasure of meeting with the lovely and talented Vera Balyura earlier this week!  She is the designer and creator of VERAMEAT; a beautiful, whimsical, quirky, edgy, fun jewelry line!  Her pieces feature everything from baby heads to hearts to dinosaurs to feathers, and her prices range from under $100 to over $1,000.  Basically, there is something for everyone!

Verameat is featured at retailers both nationally and internationally.  In addition, she has two stores in New York, one store in Beverly Hills, as well as an online store.  I was able to visit the Beverly Hills store and I was completely enchanted with Vera, her staff, the jewelry, and the artful displays!  Take a look...  

And of course I couldn't resist grabbing a few midi rings for myself!  I have not taken these off since I left the store...

And of course I had to take a pair out for a spin the other night...

I'm thinking I might have gone a little overboard on the whole pink/black/pointy-toe thing... but then again can you ever have too much of any one of those things?  I think not!

Casa Medici Resin Skulls

I had a chance to meet with an amazing company yesterday, Casa Medici.  They make all kinds of amazing items from furniture to art... even bathtubs!  They use resin and fiber glass to create incredible finishes.  I got to take a tour of their factory and see some very interesting things.  But there was something in particular that caught my eye... skulls!  They use a lot of leftover resin from bigger projects to make these cool skulls.  I just couldn't resist snapping a few pictures and sharing them...

My favorite is the guy with the nails... do you think he has a headache?!  ;)

Strawberry Shortcake

It was recently my bday... I won't tell you which one... BUT I will tell you that I had so many fun mini celebrations with great friends! One of my favorites was dining al fresco with my friend Sarah in her backyard. Sarah is an amazing cook and totally gluten-free, so it was healthy and delicious!

Check out how cute she set up her backyard...

AND she made me an amazing, gluten-free strawberry shortcake (biscuit style) which I ate so much of that I got a stomach ache...

BUT the stomach ache didn't stop me from eating the leftovers for breakfast the next day...

The best way to spend a Sunday...

I've been MIA but I'm back and ready to blog, so watch out!

I'll start with my weekend... I spent Sunday relaxing with my friend Gina, we went to the Beverly Wilshire Hotel for massages and then we sat poolside for the rest of the afternoon.  Amazing!
