red carpet: OSCARS

The Oscars is Hollywoods biggest and most glamorous night.  The stars were out and looking their best at last night's Oscar Awards and we were definitely impressed and inspired!  There were so many incredible dresses, looks and trends.  Here are a few that really caught our eye...

KEEPING IT NEUTRAL:
Neutral/natural shades are elegant and seasonless.  Everything from white to cream to beige to tan to even a pale pink or peach can be considered a neutral hue.  These shades are great because they look really clean and are fun to accessorize with a contrasting purse, shoes or even some fun make-up.  Caution: when choosing a neutral hue you want to make sure it compliments your skin tone and does not wash you out!

RED CARPET...

There were plenty of neutral hued dressed to choose from but these were our favorites.  Cameron Diaz looks incredible in a strapless off white gown with a metallic sheen and gold detailing.  She has chosen to finish off her look with dramatic red lips and matching nail polish.  Demi Moore shows off her incredible body with a strapless pale peach dress that has a woven bodice and ruffled skirt.  She chose to accessorize with a cuff bracelet and slightly contrasting bronze clutch.  Sandra Bullock looked like a winner in a gold gown with a lace bodice.  She finished off her look with bright lips and neutral accessories.

REAL LIFE...

Get a neutral look right now on Badjoan.com that you can wear in real, everyday life!  Jenny Han has some incredible options that are great for work or play.  The Short Sleeve Square Neck Dress is heavy weight so it's perfect for cooler weather.  To keep the whole look natural wear it over cream tights and tan boots!  The Strapless Ruffle Trim Dress is such a flattering and easy dress.  This dress is great for spring/summer and it's silky sheen make it perfect to dress up.  Looks great with neutral pumps or sandals.  Finally, the Jewel Neck Dress is an adorable heavyweight dress that features a jewel trim neckline.  This dress looks great layered over long sleeves to keep you extra warm.  We love it over black tights and black pumps for a simple black and white look!

HUES OF BLUE:
Another trend that we loved was Blue.  There were all different shades and prints of blue.  The thing we love about blue is that it can go all the way from a pale, greyish color to a bold and vibrant royal blue!  No matter your skin tone or size you can find a way to incorporate this color into your wardrobe.

RED CARPET...

Rachel McAdams stole the show in a pale blue, watercolor print strapless dress.  The colors complimented her skin tone and the dress flowed with her every move.  Comedian turned dramatic actress, Monique, wore a gorgeous and bold royal blue gown.  The woven bodice and loose skirt compliemented her shape and the bright color popped against her skin tone.  Maggie Gyllenhaal stood out in a bright blue floral printed strapless gown that hugged her lanky frame in all the right places!
